For me yoga is a complete way of living. It's about becoming aware of your body and mind, the depths of movement and stillness and how this serves to reach the deeper realms of yourself.
I’m a Vedanta scholar, Yoga teacher, Marma therapist, Mindfulness trainer and ACT Coach. I’m very passionate about these topics and love to write, talk, learn and teach about this. My mission is to share the amazing knowledge of these topics as they contribute to our journey towards self- love, acceptance and innergrowth. Knowing who we are gives clarity, peace and lasting happiness.
From a young age I've been interested in different cultures, old wisdoms and things that couldn't so easily be explained. I had joy in the things I did, but got easily bored and was always searching for something new. Something that would give that lasting joy and inner peace. When I really got into Yoga during my travels I felt that there was something there that would give me answers to what I was looking for. Once back in the Netherlands I searched for a place that could give me long term guidance and a lot of knowledge, which made me decide to join a 2 year teacher training program. Never did I think that I would end up teaching yoga and all that followed!
I emerged myself in the world of yoga, managed a studio for a while, became a teacher of the TTC and did many courses, workshops and training to gain insights, knowledge and practice. And a lot of practice. Because in the end it's all about the practice you have yourself, every day again. So many courses can tell us this and that, but if there's no integration into what we do, then they are all useless. And so my practice was consistent, daily early mornings of long (Ashtanga) yoga practices and I started to implement what I read and learned into my own daily life. And this helped me so much in changing old patterns that were not serving anymore.
Life is a journey of great and less great things and of course this didn't change for me either. But the way I could observe, handle and deal with it did change and this gave (and still gives) me so much peace and satisfaction in all that I do. There’s a deeper sense of being ok when things aren’t ok, supporting me in moving through these difficult times with more acceptance and patience.
Today I'm very grateful and honoured that I can forward this knowledge and experiences in my classes, workshops, one-on-one sessions and training. For the last 4 years I was able to do this at my own space which was called Studio Yama in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Now that I moved to Switzerland I'm very excited to continue my journey here, getting to know new people and contributing to our communities again. Thank you for having me and I'm looking forward to meeting you!
Be inspired to explore your own unique Self with patience, love and care.
